Josè Manuel Pellicer held the lead in ten of the eleven stages - clearly dominating the first annual Africa Race, which winds its way from Paris to Dakar. This is an extremely challenging race, rife with obstacles and adversities, with a course more than 7,500 km long, through Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal.
Pellicer took first in his BMW 450 X, ahead of Arnaud Jacquart’s KTM and Thomas Schattat’s Yamaha.
Stage after stage, the leader of the BMW/Burn/Profiltek Team relied on his Klonyx MX - the Rudy Project goggles that give his eyes maximum protection and a clear view, shielding them against the blinding African sun. The Klonyx MX goggles in fact have different lenses available, from those that provide protection against intense sun, to lenses that lend themselves to conditions where visibility is critical. Also, in order to provide maximum comfort (and therefore concentration) during a race, the lenses have a practical “tear-off" system that ensure a continuous clear view without having to clean the mask.
The nose protector is also crucial for protection from annoying burns and outside elements.
Together on the podium of this race with its wild allure, Pellicer and Rudy Project proved to be a truly winning duo, robust, reliable and successful, ready to conquer new goals.
